Alejandro Mendoza signs for Birkirkara F.C.

by Ivan Mizzi - 8th August 2012

Alejandro Mendoza will be the fifth foreign player in our senior squad, as just a few moments ago the Spanish central defender signed a one year contract with our Club.

Alejandro joined our Club on trial on the 30 July and since then, he has played two matches with our Club. His first match was last Thursday in the 2-0 victory over Mosta in the semi-final of the AME Cup. In his second match, the final of the same competition, Alejandro's performance improved a lot, and it was evident that he was already settling in with the squad. Birkirkara won the match with a score of 2-1 over Sliema.

Besides playing as a central defender, Alejandro can also play as a defensive midfielder. This will give the Head Coach even more options and flexibility.

Alejandro, formerly of Spanish side A.T. Grandilla, will replace Rodrigo Pereira who was released by our Club last Monday. He will be joining the four other foreign players in our squad, that is Nikola Vukanac, Joselito Dos Reis, Jhonnattann Benites and Shola Shodiya.

We would like to welcome Alejandro to our Club, while wishing him success in his adventure with our Club.
