Players Presentation for Season 2015-2016

Birkirkara FC presented their new signings, technical team and sponsors for Season 2015-2016 in a press conference held om Monday at the Royal Malta Yacht Club, Ta' Xbiex.

Contract Renewals and New Signings

Birkirkara were one of the most active clubs during the Summer Transfer Market, and they renewed the contract of key players while making some important new signings.

Contract Renewals

The Stripes renewed the contract of six players, out of which three are products of its own Youth Academy. The players who renewed their contract are the following:

1. Goalkeeper Justin Haber signed a fresh contract on Tuesday, 12 May 2015.
2. Youth Academy Product Rowen renewed his contract on Tuesday, 12 May 2015
3. Team captain Paul Fenech renewed his contract on Thursday, 14 May 2015
4. Youth Academy Product Joseph Zerafa signed a fresh contract on Monday, 1 June 2015
5. Youth Academy Product Ryan Camenzuli signed a new contract on Monday, 8 June 2015
6. Serbian Nikola Vukanac renewed his contract with our Club on Sunday, 14 June 2015

New Signings

The Club has invested heavily in new signings and acquired the services of eighth new players, of which two are forming part of the Under-19's National Team. The Club's signings are the following:

1. Vito Plut - a prolific striker brought in Malta by Floriana FC in Season 2014-2015 and he signed a contract on Monday, 22 June 2015.

2. Fabrizio Miccoli - one of the biggest signings in Maltese football signed a contract with our Club on Wednesday, 24 June 2015.

3. Edin Murga - A promising and technical winger who last played for Vendsyssel in Denmark joined our Club on an amateur status on Tuesday, 30 June 2015.

4. Emerson Marcelina, was also brought to Malta by Floriana FC in Season 2014-2015 and he signed a contract with Birkirkara FC on Tuesday, 14 July 2015

5. Cain Attard - A promising youngster and a player of the Malta Under-21's National Team signed a contract on Thursday, 6 August 2015.

6. Philip Schranz - A product of Melita FC, Schranz also forms part of the Malta Under-19's National Team and signed a contract on Tuesday, 11 August 2015.

7. Juan Quero - A Spanish offensive player who last played for Spanish side Hercules FC signed a -year contract on Tuesday, 11 August 2015.

8. Frank Temile - Mmade his return with our Club following one-season absence and he joined our Club on Thursday, 20 August 2015.

9. Matteo Desira Buttigieg - Promising forward Matteo Desira Buttigieg signed a contract with our Club on Friday, 28 August 2015.

Loans

With the squad increasing in its quantity and most importantly quality, the Club sent four players on loan to gain more experience and have more playing time. The players are the following:

1. Daniel Zerafa - After being loaned to St. Georges in Season 2013-2014, the Under-21's National Team player was loaned to Tarxien Rainbows FC.

2. Edin Murga - Despite joining our Club during this Summer's Transfer Window, Edin was loaned to Mosta FC.

3. Terence Vella - Vella, who spent the last season on loan with Naxxar Lions FC, was loaned out to Qormi FC.

4. Matteo Desira Butigieg - Following signing a five-year contract with our Club from St. Andrew's FC, he was loaned to the same St. Andrew's FC.

Technical Team

The Stripes also made a complete re-shuffle in their Technical Team by appointing new Head Coach, new Assistant Coach, new Goalkeepers Coach, new Physical Trainer and a new Team Manager. The whole list of Technical Staff for Season 2015-2016 is the following:

Sponsors

Sponsors play a main role in the Club's funding, and the following are the sponsors of the Club for Season 2015-2016.

Mc Donald's - The Club's main sponsor will be sponsoring the Club for the nineteenth consecutive year.

Eurosport are the Club's Technical sponsors with their brand Adidas. During this Summer, Birkirkara and Eurosport renewed their contract for another three years covering all sectors of the Club, that is the Academy, Under-19's Team, Women's Team and Senior Team.

Powerade will be sponsoring the Club for the fifth consecutive year.

Middlesea Insurance will be sponsoring the Club for the fifth year running.

Meat Point - One of the Club's new sponsors thanks to Frank Zarb, who has been appointed as the Club's vice-president for local affairs.

Remedy Swiss - Last but not least is our collaboration with our friends at Remedy Swiss who have for the last three years contributed substantially to the wellbeing of the Club and who have pledged that this year will continue investing in us, and supporting us, both financially and technically.
