Dramatic goal secures the title for the Stripes

The Birkirkara Women's Team are on cloud number nine after yesterday evening a dramatic goal by Isabelle Mazzitelli three minutes on time handed the Stripes a narrow victory over Mosta which enabled them to win their second consecutive championship of the BOV First Division league.

Sale of tickets for the decider

Tickets for the Enclosure side of the league decider match between Birkirkara and Hibernians, that will be played this Saturday, will be on sale from today till Friday from the Clubhouse (on top of the McDonald's Restaurant) at Valley Road, Birkirkara between 17:00 and 19:00.

Lottery winner

Miriam Pulis was the lucky winner of the lottery held during last Sunday's rally. The prize was a flat screen television set, kindly donated by Audioronics of Brared Street, Birkirkirkara. Committee member Nicholas Grima presented Ms Pulis with the prize at the Clubhouse.

Details of the decider match

The Malta Football Association has announced that the decider-match of next Saturday between Birkirkara and Hibernians will be kicking off at 18:00 and not at 17:00 as announced before.

Protests not upheld

The protests lodged by Birkirkara FC this morning regarding the suspension of the Women players namely Kelly Agius Pace, Stephania Farrugia and Maryrose Cardona were not upheld and therefore the suspensions remain. Kelly Agius Pace and Stephania Farrugia are suspended for two matches while Maryrose Cardona is suspended for five matches.

Birkirkara lodge protests

Birkirkara FC have this morning lodged protests over the suspension of three players from the Women's Team. The three players, Kelly Agius Pace, Maryrose Cardona and Stephania Farrugia were suspended for two matches each. The suspensions were based on the match report, over alleged incidents that happened after the Birkirkara and Gozo match which was played at the Sannat Ground on Sunday 28 April.

Birkirkara and Mosta to fight it out for Women's title

Current Champions Birkirkara FC, and Mosta FC, the two most consistent teams in the Women's First Division league will be crossing swords this Tuesday, in a much awaited match. These two forces in the Women's football will face off in the last Women's league fixture which can determine this year's title winners, since they are on equal points.

Stripes defeat Rainbows in a hard-fought match

Birkirkara will have to wait till Saturday in order to have their chance to be crowned the BOV Premier League Champions of Malta, when despite beating Tarxien with a solitary goal by Shodiya eleven minutes from time, Hibernians defeated Valletta by the odd goal in three to force a decider for the winner of the league.

Birkirkara Under 15s Lose Direct Clash Against Qormi

What was being considered as the most important game of the campaign proved to be a huge disappointment as Birkirkara were beaten 3-0 by Qormi at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday, in a direct clash for promotion to Section A via the second place. This is a huge blow for our promotion aspirations as now Qormi have now taken charge of the race with only 2 games left. The major cause of disappointment was the fact that Birkirkara could not play this match with their best formation. There were a lot of players missing due to various reasons, to the extent that an outfield player, Owen Amato, had to act as a goalkeeper since none of the actual goalkeepers were available for selection.

U16 Girls advance to Knockout's Semi Final

In en entertaining quarter final match of the Under 16's Girls Knock Out which produced no less than six goals, Birkirkara showed a great character to come from behind twice to eliminate Tarxien Rainbows with a 4-2 score.
