Interview with Trevor Cilia

After yesterday's game, in which our team managed to beat Santa Coloma with a 4-3 score line, we decided to interview one of yesterday's best players who scored a brace, Trevor Cilia.

Birkirkara are through to the next round thanks a 4-3 victory over Andorra's FC Santa Coloma in a highly-exciting match. With this second leg result, our team has managed to register a 7-3 aggregate victory.

On Tuesday, Birkirkara will face Santa Coloma in the 2nd leg of the 1st qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

The Second Leg match, from the First Qualifying Round of the UEFA Champions League between Birkirkara FC and FC Santa Coloma, will now kick-off at 18:00, and not at 17:30 as communicated earlier.

Birkirkara handed a 3-0 victory

On Thursday, Birkirkara have been awarded a 3-0 walkover victory over Andorra's champions FC Santa Coloma, due to lack of planning and organization shown by the latter in the UEFA Champions League 1st Qualifying Round match.

Champions League match cancelled. UEFA decision today

Birkirkara FC's Champions Leauge away match vs Santa Coloma was cancelled shortly before the match was to start last Tuesday. The UEFA delegate took this decision since the pitch was in such a bad state that it was deemed unsafe to play on.

Water logged pitch in Andorra

Birkirkara FC had a training session today in the "Estadi Comunal d'Andorra la Vella". This is the ground to be used for tomorrow's first leg encounter of the Champions League fixture. Much to the dissapointment of our Club, the pitch was found to be in a very bad state. The pitch is waterlogged mainly due to the heavy rain. The laying of carpet grass only a few hours before this training session, was another reason why the pitch is in this terrible shape.

First match of UEFA Champions League

On Tuesday, Birkirkara FC will be involved in their 1st leg of the 1st Qualifying Round in the Champions League. This will be the opening match of the Champions League for the season 2010-2011. The draw which took place last Monday saw Birkirkara draw against the current champions of Andorra, Santa Coloma. The 1st leg will take place in the Estadi Comunal d'Andorra la Vella, which has a capacity of around 800 spectators. This is one of the two grounds that host the majority of the matches of the Andorra's two highest football competitions. On the other hand, the 2nd leg will be played in the Centenary Stadium, Ta' Qali. The price for a ticket will be just €5. Mr. Paul Zammit will welcome back from injury the promising youngster, Rowen Muscat. However he will still have to do without the services of Angus Buhagiar and Branko Nisevic. As mentioned by many, this is the perfect chance for the 'Stripes' to write their name in history as Birkirkara have never qualified for another round in the UEFA Champions League. Birkirkara bow out of Euro Challenge Cup

In the second and final match for the 'Stripes' in the Euro Challenge Cup, Birkirkara suffered another loss against eternal rivals Valletta with a 3-0 score line.

Tabone and Paris extend their contract

Another two Birkirkara FC player have renewed their contract by another year. These players are defender, Thomas Paris and veteran midfielder, Alan Tabone.

Birkirkara FC has made the following arrangements for Birkirkara FC supporters who wish to travel to the Champions League away match on 30 June, against Santa Coloma of Andorra.

Birkirkara FC will be leaving Malta early Sunday Morning and hope to arrive in Andorra at approximately 06.00 on that Morning. The group will consist of Birkirkara FC's top officials together with the team and technical staff.
