Following the huge amount of controversies which hit the Maltese football scenes, Birkirkara will be resuming their Premier League duties with a match against newly-promoted Hamrun Spartans.

Championship resumed

The Malta Football Assosication has decided to resume the BOV Premier League 2009-2010 season following a meeting held on the 17th of September.

Stripes beat the south-sea-siders

In a friendly match played in Marsaxlokk, Birkirkara managed to beat the hosts with a 2-3 scoreline, after being a goal behind in two different occasions.

Friendly vs. Marsaxlokk on Wednesday

Instead of the friendly match scheduled for Tuesday between Birkirkara and Mqabba, 'The Stripes' management together with that of relegated side Marsaxlokk, have arranged a friendly for this Wednesday.

Malta set to face tough opposition

In today's World Cup 2010 qualification match, hosts Malta will face in-form Sweden, which promises to be a very difficult game for the whole Maltese contingent. The match will kick-off at 18.30 and will be played at the Ta'Qali National Stadium.

On Monday, Birkirkara played a highly one-sided friendly match against Division One side Hamrun S.

This week's duties

For the second week of September, the Birkirkara FC squad will go through the following training regimes, which will contribute in keeping our players in shape whilst waiting for the MFA's decision regarding this year's BOV Premier League.

Birkirkara will be involved in another important friendly on Monday, when the boys in 'Stripes' face yet another Division One side, this time in the shape of Hamrun S.

'Stripes' beat 'Spurs' in a friendly match

In a friendly match played on Saturday, Birkirkara managed to beat Division One side Pieta' H. by two goals to nil.

'Fenkata' on Friday

The 'Stripes Supporters Club' will be organising a 'Fenkata' for all the Birkirkara FC supporters, at the club's premises on top of the McDonalds in Valley Road.

This week's training sessions

The Birkirkara FC squad will undergo the following training sessions for the week which started on the 31st of August and will end on the 6th of September.

Borg and Anastasi loaned out

Patrick Borg and Martin Anastasi have joined Mqabba on a one-year loan deal.

Vukanac to replace Hartvig

Following the departure of Ronni Hartvig from the Birkirkara FC squad, the board of directors together with the technical staff, have moved to capture the signing of Serbian defender Nikola Vukanac, who has been on trial with 'The Stripes' for a considerable amount of time.

Ronni Hartvig retires from football

Strong centre-back Ronni Hartvig has decided to retire from football once and for all due to personal reasons.

The 'Rainbows' brushed aside

On Sunday, 'The Stripes' managed to beat Tarxien Rainbows thanks to a goal in each half.
