Controversial penalty denies magnificent Stripes

A controversial penalty two minutes on time ordered by the referee Marco Borg brought harsh and deserved protests by the Birkirkara fans as the Stripes felt that they were cheated out of a priceless two points as the match between Birkirkara and Hibernians ended all even.

Under 15s Held By Mellieha In Nervous Match

Birkirkara Under 15s were left to rue the huge amount of squandered goalscoring opportunities when, after finally finding the lead with two minutes to go, they conceded the equaliser in the most bizarre of circumstances. The match was characterised by the strong wind, which played a big part in Mellieha's goal, together with a really competitive atmosphere at the opponents' football ground. This draw came after four successive wins.

Under 17s Unlucky Against Pieta'

Birkirkara Under 17s were left to curse their ill luck on Sunday at the end of their 2-1 defeat against Pieta' at the St Patricks' Stadium in Zabbar. They had all right to do so as they were denied three times by the woodwork, not to mention an incredible refereeing decision just before the last kick of the game. That is football though, and although it is the result that counts in the end, our boys left the playing field with their heads up as they knew they gave all they had during the whole match. This defeat sees Birkirkara failing to keep hold of fourth place, with two games to go.

A Stroll In The Park for Birkirkara Under 15s

Birkirkara Under 15s found no difficulty whatsoever to beat bottom of the table Zejtun Corinthians at the Siggiewi Grounds on Saturday. The 9-0 final score gives an exact picture of how our boys dominated the game from start to finish, with the difference in quality between the two sided evident throughout the whole ninety minutes. This win consolidates the second place, which means promotion to Section A.

Stripes beat Tarxien to stay on top

Sole leaders Birkirkara had to endure a challenging task on Saturday afternoon as a determined Tarxien Rainbows side played their hearts out. However Jhonnattann's strike midway in the second half was essential for the Stripes to pick up precious points and move a step closer towards their aim of winning their fourth championship.
